Overcoming Problems in Play

ANGINA and HEART ATTACKS

BDSM play is exciting but can be strenuous for the sub or Dom/me, depending on the activity. Excitement and exercise can lead to chest pain so you better be ready for it!

So let us consider what we can do to ensure safety and enjoyment

Understand the different symptoms between Angina, Heart attack and indigestion! These can all seem similar and play could cause any of them.
Discuss with your partner if they have any history or experiences of these conditions
Do you know what medication is usually used in your partner's immediate treatment?
Is their medication readily available?
Do you know what necessary aftercare is required?
Do you know how to give First Aid, including CPR, if required?
- If your partner has a history of heart problems then a course in CPR is a MUST for you! - Have the number of their doctor available and make sure you have at least 2 ways (line and mobile phone?) to call an ambulance, IMMEDIATELY - Have soluable asprin close by

- Have a safe sign agreed in case speech is difficult e.g. a soft ball held in the hand to be dropped in emergency. If it is the Dom/me who is the sufferer make sure that the sub can free themself of any bondage quickly in order to give assistance.
Do you know what to do if your partner becomes too distressed or unable to explain clearly what he/she needs?

- stop play, something is going wrong. Evaluate if the simple stopping and care will be enough or whether medical advice is needed
Do you know at which point medical attention is necessary?
Does your partner care enough to take a close interest in all of the preceding questions?
